David Page was born in Nottingham in 1961. Married with four children, he discovered his passion for photography in the early 2000s and began exhibiting his work in local art galleries.
In 2007, David, his wife Sarah, and their young family moved to rural France—specifically the Haute-Vienne—with the goal of establishing a smallholding and living a self-sufficient lifestyle. Not the full-on version involving generating their own electricity, weaving clothes, and writing with carved feathers and plant-based ink—but a simpler form of autonomy focused on growing their own food and embracing a traditional French country way of life.
The Page family enjoyed ten years of "the good life" before relocating in 2017 to the Lot-et-Garonne region in the south-west of France, where they now live.
During his time in France, David established a successful career as a documentary wedding photographer with a strong focus on storytelling. In 2024, it felt like time for another change—a natural evolution from visual storytelling to storytelling through the written word. Today, David divides his time between his love of fine art photography and his newfound passion for writing.
